Hello Socialites.

So, as we fall the clocks back ordinarily we would be going face first into local social season. However this year it is also silly season (term of endearment for election season) for me so I’m not going to be able to throw another official Local Social until next month.

However, there are more than a few very local and social events going on the next few days.

As I said it is municipal election time and there are lots of all candidate meetings (dates below) where everybody comes out to meet their community and I very much encourage you to come out as well.

Good to hear - this is just a quick note to let you know this weekend there's a couple cool things happening that you should know about.

First – this Saturday it’s going to be spine tingling cool watching 7,500 roadies coming in hot through our town. 9-11ish

Then from 10-6 ft we have Squamish’s own PNE – Brackendale Fall Fair. If you haven’t been you definitely have to check this out.

This is just a quick note to say hello and to let you know about a few very cool things going on in our fantastic community.

First, This weekend is the legendary Test of Metal Weekend.
Friday: downtown will be lots of family fun stuff.
Saturday: the big show with 800 racers going through our trails starting 11:00 at the rec center.
Sunday: the little kids have the mini metal at Squamish station and the spectator favorite “Rock Star” is the downhill race in Valleycliffe.

Lots to see and do.

So, this is just a quick note to thank you all for making this another great Local Social season. Pretty soon we’re turning the clocks forward and as the days get longer it’s time to go play outside.

As always I’ll send out a few activity updates here and there but more or less the socials take a break until the days get dark again.

PS. Not sure if there are even any tickets left but the best fundraiser party of the year is happening this Saturday. It’s James Bondage @ brew pub. Great dress up party if you can make it – you’ll definitely be glad you did.

So, the days are getting longer – yay! This also means the Local Social season is almost over. Almost.

There are two left and the next one is going to be downtown at La petite Burrow. Come bistro it up downtown and meet your neighbors.

Just a quick note to remind you this Thursday is January’s Local Social and it’s shaping up to be a good one.

The location is The Rock Bar and Grill (Valley Dr. and Hwy 99 at the south end by the new gas station)

*BONUS* The Rock actually has a free shuttle service and believe it or not they will pick you up and drive you home for free. Yes I thought that sounded crazy as well but it’s true – I’ve actually done it. Phone this number and get a lift 604.848.5732. Seriously.

So, heavens knows you have a lot to do these next few days so I’ll keep this short.

To you and yours I wish you a most fantastic end to 2010 and have a brilliant 2011. Here’s hoping you find some time over the next few days to indulge some pleasures.
